Mass media around us. To believe or to analyze

Correct me if I am right: Belarus, Cameroon, Estonia, Germany, Italia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Palestine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, Turkey.
In the end of April group of young people from Latvia, Belarus, Lithuania and Moldova met in Riga willing to exchange ideas, experiences and opinions about trustworthy of mass media information.
"Believe Or Analyze" - it doesn't mean only reading huge amount of newspapers and analyzing images. Riga inspired for a lot of things in those 10 days - crazy games, flash mobs, face painting, stencil making and serious discussions were held in sunny spring weather and even in sudden snowstorm.
Someone was surprised by possible borders of freedom, someone impressed by Baltic Sea, even reality were constructed in two different languages - English and Russian.
Somehow stays the hope that the painted faces and houses will never be washed - full with memories and impressions, to be analyzed and transformed into new ideas…

Rīgā tiek rīkots apmaiņas projekts mediju analīzes jomā. Meklējam interesantus un darboties gribošus cilvēkus, kas vēlas piedalīties.
Nedaudz par projekta ideju:
2007. gada Pasaules Preses Brīvības Dienu (3.maijs) ir paredzēts atzīmēt un aktualizēt sabiedrībā, maija pirmajā nedēļā vairākās Eiropas Savienības valstīs, rīkojot apmaiņas programmas par vārda un preses brīvības tēmām, kurās radītie materiāli tiktu apvienoti grāmatā ar DVD disku.

In the first week of May 2007 several exchanges between young people in Europe will take place and workshops will be given around the world on the 3rd of May all promoting press freedom and free speech.
As every exchange and workshop this year have main topic "freedom of expression" and have concrete results. People could joinin such workshops as: creative writing, video, photography, journalistic provided by "creative group MYSTYLe art" and it`s friends. All results of the workshops will be compiled in a book with DVD that will be spread around the world, promoting press freedom and free speech.
Exchange in Latvia called "Mass media around us. To believe or to analyze" was organized by "creative group MYSTYLe art". In exchange youngsters from Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova and Ukraine took part.
The project is being coordinated by Loesje International, foundation. The Berlin based Loesje is from origin a Dutch organisation that got known by publishing and spreading positive, humoristic though critical one-liners published on posters and has active groups in over 30 countries in the world.
